Trump's campaign announced Wednesday that Trump would hold a rally at Butler Farm Show in Butler, Pa., at 5 p.m. EDT on Oct. 5, nearly three months after the July 13 assassination attempt that wounded Trump's ear and left one man dead and other attendees hurt.

"During his visit, President Trump will honor the memory of Corey Comperatore, who heroically sacrificed his life to shield his wife and daughters from the bullets on that terrible day," the campaign said.

"President Trump will also recognize the two other Americans who were wounded by the shooter, David Dutch and James Copenhaver."

Trump previously paid tribute to Comperatore, who was a firefighter, during the Republican National Convention. Comperatore's helmet had been onstage, and Trump kissed it.

The suspected shooter, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed after launching his apparent attack, which left Trump with a bloody ear when a bullet grazed him.

In August, FBI special agent Kevin Rojeck said the agency still did not see any " definitive ideology associated with our subject, either left-leaning or right-leaning."

Some two months after the incident, 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh, also apparently attempted to assassinate Trump.

The second incident unfolded Sept. 15, when Trump's Secret Service agents noticed Routh hiding along the perimeter of the Palm Beach County, Fla., golf course where Trump was playing.

A letter revealed Routh's intent to assassinate Trump.
