WASHINGTON D.C. (WTAJ) — More than three years after the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol, law enforcement and courts are still dealing with the aftermath, and a Proud Boys member from Pennsylvania just felt the effects of his actions.

Brian Healion, 33, of Upper Darby, was sentenced to 100 days in prison with 36 months of supervised release this week. He was also ordered to pay $2,000 in restitution. Healion previously pleaded guilty in February to a felony charge of civil disorder, the Department of Justice announced.

According to court documents, Healion was a member of the Philadelphia Proud Boys chapter and he traveled to D.C. to protest the certification of the 2020 presidential election.

It was discovered that Healion posted in a chat with other members about when the “situation” was happening [Jan. 6, 2021]. Helion was also found to be part of a group marching around the Capitol, taunting Capitol police and saying “Don’t make us go against you.”

The DOJ said Healion was part of a crowd that crossed and trampled over barriers. He also helped others cross the barriers before finally entering the Capitol that afternoon where he proceeded to pose for pictures.

In the 41 months since Jan. 6, 2021, more than 1,450 individuals have been charged in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol, including more than 500 individuals charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement, a felony.

    The federal investigation remains ongoing.
