Little League’s fall festival returns
Mantua’s Little League program will bring back its fall festival from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 405 Main St. “We want this festival to be a true community celebration,” said the league’s Nicole Steen, “inviting not just our MLL families, but also everyone in Mantua and the surrounding towns to join in the fun. We love our Mantua Little League families, and anytime we can include the community into our events it’s a win-win.”
Moment of silence and busy agenda at committee meeting
The Mantua Township Committee hosted its monthly meeting on Aug. 12, when Mayor Robert Zimmerman provided updates and information on a number of community issues. The meeting kicked off with a moment of silence for the family of late Mantua resident Casey Power, who died as a result of domestic violence in 2021. Her family created the Casey Power Foundation to raise awareness of and support other victims of domestic violence.

N.J. woman, 29, found dead on side of Alabama road
No foul play was involved in the death of a New Jersey woman whose body was found over the weekend in western Jefferson County in Alabama. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Thursday identified the woman as 29-year-old Miyell Johnson, also known as Kimberly Ann Agere. She lived in Long Branch.
