Hot tea spill permanently burns woman’s hand, new Dunkin’ lawsuit says
HILLSIDE — In the latest hot spill lawsuit against Dunkin' in New Jersey, a Union County woman claims she suffered severe and permanent burns on her hand due to negligence. Essence Springer bought a hot mint tea at the Dunkin' drive-thru on Liberty Avenue in Hillside on Dec. 17, 2023, according to the lawsuit filed last week.
Ford Foundation president Darren Walker to step down in 2025
The New York-based Ford Foundation has announced that Darren Walker, its 10th president, will leave his role by the end of 2025 after more than 11 years of service. The foundation’s board will oversee a leadership transition process that will include a search committee composed of its board chair Francisco Cigarroa and board members Ursula Burns, Laurene Powell Jobs, Tom Kempner, Lourdes Lopez, Paula Moreno, and Ai-jen Poo.

NUTLEY, NJ - Another great week of Soccer Camp returns to Nutley's Owens Field next week with Nutley High School Soccer Coach Mike DiPiano. For the past 14 years, DiPiano's coed soccer camp has become a township staple, with many participants eventually going on to play soccer in high school and college. CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER As a coach at NHS, DiPiano sent more than 20 girls to play at the college level, and in most cases, the girls started in camp. Many later worked at the camp when they were in high school. The program is coed, for young people in grades 1 to grade 8. The cost is $150 for the week, which is lower than many of the soccer camps in the region. Camp dates are July 29 to August 1. A judge denies SiriusXM’s request to toss SoundExchange’s $150 million unpaid royalties lawsuit, but agrees on a change of venue to NYC. After SoundExchange sued SiriusXM last year for more than $150 million in unpaid royalties, the satellite radio giant moved to dismiss the case for “lack of personal jurisdiction,” or at least requested that the case should be transferred to a different venue. Now, the court has denied SiriusXM’s request for dismissal, but has agreed to move the trial to the Southern District of New York.
