Alex Verdugo's ignorant statement shows he's as lost as ever at the plate
Alex Verdugo's New York Yankees career could not have gotten off to much of a better start. After being acquired in an offseason trade with the Boston Red Sox, the 28-year-old was swinging such a hot bat to the point where he was hitting cleanup behind Juan Soto and Aaron Judge with regularity and was consistently driving in clutch runs.
Orlando City equals New York City FC at home
New York City FC came to the Orlando City SC pitch to knock the home team down a peg. They had done it earlier this season. New York City FC held off a late attack from Orlando City SC in their last meeting to win 4-2. But since then, the Lions mounted a sustained march to the seventh spot in the MLS Eastern Conference. Holding onto any place among the seven means the team makes the post-season without having to play in.
