Join Our Third Space Brewing Beer Bash
“You have your home, you have your work, but everyone needs a third space,” says Third Space Brewing co-founder Andy Gehl. Your “third space” is the place where you feel comfortable and welcoming, where you can go to have a good time and get away from it all. That’s where Third Space Brewing comes in. Most Wisconsin Workers in 16 Years Died on Jobs in 2022
More Wisconsinites died at work in 2022 than in any year since 2006, reversing a three-year trend of declining workplace fatalities. Health Officials Urge Vaccinations, Cite Cases of Infectious Disease
The state’s top disease official says reports of public exposure to two infectious diseases in Wisconsin last week show new emphasis is needed on the importance of vaccines. The state Department of Health Services confirmed on Friday that a Dane County resident has measles, a highly contagious and potentially deadly disease. State officials released a list of locations and times between April 21 and April 22 when people in Dane and Rock counties may have been exposed to the measles virus.

Abortion Advocates, Opponents Unite on Policies to Address Root Causes
MADISON, Wis. — The Starts With Us civic experiment on abortion began with a hypothesis that was reflected in the session’s first working title: Abortion Access & Limits. And the experiment’s results, following heated discussions among 14 Wisconsin residents with divergent abortion beliefs, are reflected in the session’s final title: Abortion & Family Well-Being, whose just-released five proposed consensus solutions are designed to address the economic, health, and education disparities that can lead people to choose abortion. The group ultimately could not come to any consensus about abortion itself.
‘The Treasurer’ a Darkly Funny Family Play
Don’t be duped by the title. The Treasurer is far removed from Wall Street financing. But its story about the internal conflict within a family caretaker — as a once financially carefree parent ages into dementia — rings deep and true. Particularly since the seemingly balanced son carries a closed mind as much as his elderly failing mother.
Coalition Pushes Closing Wisconsin’s Green Bay Prison

Democratic Gov. Tony Evers vetoed 73 bills passed by the Republican-controlled Legislature, and rewrote four spending bills with partial vetoes, over the last two years. Since that December day in 2022, Hirte has grappled with painful questions about how to protect others from what her daughter experienced. For Hirte and many others there is no solution without an end to solitary confinement in jails and prisons.
Transportation: Paratransit Taxis Could Return This Year
A trimmed-down and scaled-back version of on-demand taxi service for people with disabilities could return later this year. In 2023, a publicly funded taxi service for people with disabilities was discontinued because it was out of compliance with federal regulations. The program, managed by the Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS), needed ADA-accessible vehicles and drug and alcohol testing for drivers, which the county’s contractor did not offer.
