We Energies Will Spend $335 Million on Microsoft Development
We Energies plans to spend $335 million on a distribution project for Microsoft’s data center development on land originally intended for Foxconn in Mount Pleasant. According to a recent filing with the Wisconsin Public Service Commission, the utility company plans to start construction of “distribution facilities, including transformers, breakers, relays and other ancillary equipment” for the development. That work needs to begin no later than June, according to the filing.
Milwaukee Film Will Take Over Downer Theatre
The lights will soon be back on at the Downer Theatre. The two-screen cinema went dark in September, with longtime operator Landmark Theatres pulling out. But Milwaukee Film will fire up the projectors again on April 12 for its annual festival. “Regular cinema operations” for the Downer will then resume on April 26, the nonprofit announced.

State Officials Hear From Industry, Labor on Embracing AI

Troupis, Chesebro Reach Settlements in Wisconsin False Electors Lawsuit
Two lawyers who orchestrated a scheme to send a false slate of presidential electors from Wisconsin after former President Donald Trump lost the state in 2020 have agreed to never do it again. The settlements between attorneys Jim Troupis and Kenneth Chesebro and the liberal firm Law Forward now closes a lawsuit that resulted in 10 of Trump’s false electors admitting their actions were “part of an attempt to improperly overturn the 2020 presidential election results.”
