    Urbana City Committee to discuss housing grants Monday night

    URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — The Urbana City Committee of the Whole is set to discuss a series of grants to help people pay for housing on Monday night.

    According to the agenda packet, the council would move to recommend the grants to the next council meeting’s consent agenda.

    Urbana City Council discusses alternative response for emergency calls

    The money would come from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s HOME tenant-based rental assistance program.

    The ordinances being discussed would allow $150,000 to the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission for low income renters and $125,000 allocated to Courage Connection to help low-income households who have experienced domestic violence. The full agenda packet can be found here .
