    By Jim Rossow,

The first round gets underway with 18 holes on Tuesday in southeast Urbana before another 18 holes during Wednesday’s second round. Then, the top 35 golfers will play 36 holes on Thursday to determine the winner. Here’s four numbers to know, via Sports Editor Matt Daniels:

    0

Illinois State Amateur champions in the 138-man field. Mac McClear won the last two, but the former Iowa star and Hinsdale native is now a pro.

    3

Illinois State Amateur titles won by former Illini and Pekin native D.A. Points when he topped the field in 1995, 1998 and 1999.

    20

Years since Urbana last hosted the event, also at the same venue. Except it was known as Stone Creek then when TC Ford won the 2004 tournament.

    28

Under par former Illini and current PGA Tour pro Nick Hardy shot when he won the 2016 tournament in St. Charles for a tournament record.
