URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) – Glioblastoma Awareness Day is dedicated to raising awareness about the incurable brain tumor. Researchers worldwide — including Illinois — are working to better understand the disease so they can find new ways to help patients.

One of those researchers is Brendan Harley, a professor at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and program leader at the university’s Cancer Center at Illinois. He sat down with WCIA’s Karina Rubio to talk about his research and what motivates him to work in this space.

The Cancer Center at Illinois (CCIL) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is made up of more than 100 researchers from departments across campus. Their expertise combines the power of engineering and basic sciences to transform cancer research, detection, and treatment.
