3rd Maryland man arrested in Columbia murder-for-hire plot: DOJ
Authorities arrested a third Maryland man in connection with a murder-for-hire plot, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for Maryland. Tyrik "Son-Son" Braxton, 28, joins previously convicted Daquante Thomas, 22, and Jourdain "JBlacc" Larose, 29, who were already sentenced in the plot. Braxton is sentenced to 25 years in federal prison in the death of Juan Ross on Oct. 23, 2020, the DOJ said.

Earlier this month the University of Maryland College of Education has named former MCPS superintendent Dr. Monifa McKnight as its inaugural Dean’s Fellow and Superintendent in Residence, effective August 23.
