Dancing with victory: Cheyenne locals triumph in Troopers’ home show
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps brought the spirit of competition to Cheyenne on July 12 with a triumphant performance at their home show, Drums Along the Rockies – Cheyenne Edition. Laramie Police Department Announces Night Out Event
The Laramie Police Department will hold its National Night Out event on August 6 at Kiwanis Park. That's according to a post on the agency's Facebook page. According to the post, the night will begin with the Laramie Soup Kitchen providing dinner for the guests from 5:30 until 7 p.m. After dinner, ice cream will be served along with a showing of the movie Zootpia.

Joint powers board receives $200K to promote economic development
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — County leaders are again choosing to invest in the economic promotion and success of the county’s businesses. The Laramie County Board of County Commissioners approved a contract at its regular Tuesday meeting granting $200,000 to the Cheyenne/Laramie County Economic Development Joint Powers Board. The funds will be used for economic development endeavors, as well as for maintaining relationships with outside entities.

Powell Baseball Player Set To Return After Suffering Life-Threatening Rattlesnake Bite
Powell resident Jhett Schwahn, 19, is thankful he always wears long pants when he hikes. Earlier this month, it might’ve saved his life from a rattlesnake bite. On July 8, Schwahn and his girlfriend were hiking down from the summit of 8,123-foot Heart Mountain in northwest Wyoming when Schwahn was suddenly bitten by a rattlesnake in the late afternoon hours. He heard no rattle from the reptile that pounced out from a bush near the trail.
