Sam's Club membership perks just got even better—here's what to know

Sam's Club shoppers already have access to a whole host of perks through their membership, but not all tiers of the Sam's Club membership program are the same. While a Club membership ($50/year) allows users to shop Sam's Club's array of deals and discounts, a Plus membership ($110/year) grants users access to even more perks, like free curbside pickup and free shipping on most online items.

Whether you're a Club member or a Plus member, you're about to get a little boost to your Sam's Club membership. Starting Monday, August 19 , Club members will now get free curbside pickup on orders over $50, while Plus members will now get free same day delivery on orders over $50 (plus an upgraded free shipping benefit with less product exclusions). What to know about the Sam's Club membership changes

Similar to retailers like Walmart and various grocery stores, Sam's Club offers has a Curbside Pickup option for shoppers who want to order their groceries, produce, and more from the comfort of their homes. Today, certain perks that had been reserved for Sam's Club members in the Plus tier, including free curbside pickup, are being made available for Club members.

In order to access Curbside Pickup for free, you have to spend $50 as a Club member (traditionally, you would have had to have paid a $4 flat fee for pickup regardless). If you spend less than $50, you'll end up paying the flat fee.

Club members aren't the only Sam's Club shoppers who will see an elimination of flat fees. Sam's Club's same-day delivery service, which allows shoppers to order goods like groceries, produce, and more to their home in just a few hours, just got cheaper for Plus members. The perk, which costs Club members $12 to access, is now free to Plus members on orders of $50 or more (orders must be placed by 1pm local time and are subject to slot availability). If you spend less than $50, Plus members must pay an $8 fee for same-day delivery.

How much is a Sam's Club membership?

A standard Sam's Club Club membership typically costs $50, but right now you can save 60% and ring up for just $20 for one whole year of membership perks.
