The Florida State Seminoles and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets kick off the 2024-25 college football season in a thrilling Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Dublin, Ireland, on Saturday.

The Seminoles are back after last season, during which they were left out of the College Football Playoffs despite going undefeated and winning the ACC championship. Now, head coach Mike Novell is concentrating on a new offensive strategy, with former Oregon State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei stepping in for Jordan Travis.

Georgia Tech aims to build on their seven-game wins from last season. They will face Florida State for the first time since 2022, when the Seminoles defeated the Yellow Jackets 41-16.

College Football Week 0: Florida State vs. Georgia Tech predictions

Sporting News : Florida State 31, Georgia Tech 21

Bill Bender writes: "King will keep it interesting, but a late turnover prevents Georgia Tech from making a true fourth-quarter rally. The Yellow Jackets were 7-2 ATS as an underdog last season, and we're going to trust that trend against a tricky number. Just hope to avoid a late score by the Seminoles here for the cover. We've hit the Dublin opener against the spread the last two seasons. Let's make it three in a row."

CBS Sports : Back Georgia Tech

Staff writes: "One of Casale's top Week 0 college football picks: He's backing Georgia Tech (+11.5) against FSU. The Seminoles are coming off an unbelievable season that ended tragically, with starting quarterback Jordan Travis suffering a season-ending knee injury in a loss to Florida to end the regular season. They went on to beat Louisville for the ACC title but the committee ultimately admitted that Travis' injury was a deciding factor when they chose to leave Florida State out of the CFP."

Action Network : Pick Florida State

Collin Wilson writes: "While the Seminoles are most certainly the play, there could be injuries and disciplinary first-half suspensions that will move the market. Florida State has a massive advantage in the trench and will be a play at -11 or better."

    Pickswise : Florida State

Staff writes: "While starting with a game against a conference foe overseas isn’t the easiest situation for either team, I trust Norvell and Florida State to work out the kinks with its offense as the game goes along, especially against a porous Yellow Jackets defensive unit that has questions all over the field. Teams will be able to run on Georgia Tech, and that’s exactly what the ‘Noles want to do to set the tone in a season-opening game."
