    'Wouldn't trust them to move my couch': Sen. Elizabeth Warren delivers spirited DNC speech

    Sen. Elizabeth Warren spoke following a long, loud ovation on the final night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, throwing her support behind Kamala Harris and Tim Walz .

    Warren went up against Harris in the 2020 Democratic presidential primaries , but dropped out after Super Tuesday. From Massachusetts, Warren is known for being a policy wonk who wants to tackle money and corruption in politics.

    In her convention speech, Warren praised Harris' record and promise to take on corporations to protect consumers. She also took jabs at the Republican opponents.

    "Trust Donald Trump and JD Vance to look out for your family? Shoot, I wouldn't let these guys, I wouldn't trust them to move my couch, " Warren quipped.

    • Who she is: Warren has served in the U.S. Senate since 2013 and finished third in her bid for the Democratic Presidential nomination in 2020. Warren is an author, former law professor, and policy advisor with a deep background in finance and economics.

The Massachusetts Senator has been a long-time proponent of higher taxes on the wealthy , and is considered as a more progressive figure among establishment Democrats.

    When and where is the DNC

    The Democratic National Convention will take place from August 19-22 in Chicago, Illinois.

    The United Center, home of the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks, will be the main venue for the DNC.

    Chicago has hosted the Democratic Convention 11 times, most recently in 1996 when the United Center saw President Bill Clinton was nominated for a second time.

    How to watch and stream the 2024 DNC

    The convention will air live on its website , from the United Center in Chicago between 6:15 p.m. and 11 p.m. Eastern (5:15 p.m. to 10 p.m Central) on Monday, and 7 p.m to 11 p.m. Eastern (6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Central) the other days.

    USA TODAY will provide livestream coverage on YouTube each night of the DNC, Monday through Thursday.

    The DNC announced nightly themes for the convention. The title of the convention is "For the People, For Our Future."

    Here are the themes for each night:

    • Monday: "For the People"
    • Tuesday: "A Bold Vision for America's Future"
    • Wednesday: "A Fight for our Freedoms"
    • Thursday: "For our Future"
