Police wrestle Trump rallygoer to the ground after he climbed into media area

A man in the crowd at former President Donald Trump's rally Friday in Pennsylvania climbed over a barrier surrounding members of the media and onto a riser before being taken to the ground by police and removed.

A CBS reporter posted video of the incident at the Johnstown rally on X. It shows a man in sunglasses being pulled off the riser by multiple law enforcement officers.

"Just now: a protester was ejected after hopping the press fence, jumped up onto the riser at Trump’s PA rally," CBS reporter Taurean Small wrote on X before sharing the video.

Trump referred to the media as an “enemy of the people" just before the man entered into the press pen, but it is not clear from the video what his motive was or what he was shouting.

Trump rallies often feature attacks on the press and rallygoers turning to yell at and flip off the journalists in the back.

Johnstown police Chief Richard M. Pritchard told the Associated Press the man was arrested and will face misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and disrupting a public assembly.

Security concerns have been heightened at such events since Trump was shot in the face by an attempted assassin last month during another Pennsylvania rally.
