The Arkansas Razorbacks will face off against the No. 16 Oklahoma State Cowboys on Saturday in the second week of the college football season, a crucial match that could set the tone for the rest of the season.
Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy kicked off his 20th season in Stillwater with a resounding 44-20 victory against South Dakota State. This follows a stellar 2023 season, where Ollie Gordon II , the recipient of the prestigious Doak Walker Award for top running back, had a strong start to his 2024 campaign. In the game against the Jackrabbits, Gordon II's performance was a testament to his skill, with 28 carries for 126 yards and three touchdowns.
On the other hand, the Razorbacks started the season with an impressive 70-0 win against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Razorback quarterback Taylen Green completed 16 of 23 attempts for 229 yards and two touchdowns.

The Hogs will score, but Oklahoma State will have enough firepower to avoid the upset."
Reed Wallach writes: "While the Pokes were in cruise control for much of the team’s Week 1 win against South Dakota State, the Jackrabbits had only six fewer total yards but converted only three of 13 third down conversions and failed to pick up any of the four fourth down attempts. In the 24-point win, South Dakota State still moved the ball. Now against a better opponent, I don’t expect another convincing win for the Cowboys, I think this one is back-and-forth throughout."
Staff writes: "I like Arkansas’s chances to keep this game competitive, especially if the defense plays well against the run. If that happens, I would not be surprised if the Razorbacks have a chance to win this game outright. The points are plenty of cushion here for a confident play!"
