What to watch for in the Harris-Trump debate

The first debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to take place Tuesday night at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.

The stakes are high for both candidates . Polls show a close race with just two months left until Election Day.

    • Get ready to hear the words "border," "abortion" and "inflation." Harris, known for her reputation as a prosecutor, is expected to confront her Republican opponent over his criminal record and draw a contrast on critical issues facing the country in front of a national audience.
    • Attack, attack, attack : Trump's debate plan is simple, but its execution is uncertain. The Republican candidate said he plans to go after Harris over issues like the economy, inflation, and immigration - and will likely make personal jabs.
    • How to watch ? The debate is set to begin at 9 p.m. on ABC and can be streamed on ABC News Live, Disney+, Hulu and The USA TODAY channel .
