    Thousands report Microsoft 365 outages as users unable to access email, Teams, other apps

    Running into issues logging on to your email or other Microsoft account this morning? You are not alone.

    Thousands of Microsoft 365 users reported outages Thursday morning, saying they were unable to sign into their email accounts or access other applications. Downdetector, a website that tracks tech outages, estimated that over 20,000 users faced issues around the peak of the disruption.

    Here's what we know about the Microsoft 365 outage.

    Is Microsoft 365 down?

    According to Downdetector, more than 24,000 users reported Microsoft 365 outages around 9:00 a.m. ET Thursday morning. By 9:30, the number was back down to just under 3,500.

    What Microsoft apps are experiencing problems?

    Outlook had the most outages, with 75% of reports centering around the email app. 17% of users had issues with server connections and 8% with Onedrive.

    When will the Microsoft outage be solved?

    The Microsoft 365 Status account on X, formerly Twitter, posted around 9 a.m. ET, saying the company was investigating an issue where users may be unable to access multiple Microsoft 365 services.

    Around 9:30 a.m., the company provided an update, saying it was investigating its network infrastructure and working with a third party to understand the underlying issue. It has not yet provided an update for estimated service restoration.
