The claim: Israel is the only country outside the US with a 9/11 memorial
A Sept. 11 Facebook post ( direct link , archive link ) includes a photo of a man with a wreath at Israel’s 9/11 Living Memorial Plaza in Jerusalem.
“In the heart of the Jerusalem forrest (sic) stands the only 9/11 memorial outside of America,” reads the start of the post.
Other versions of the claim spread on Facebook and X, formerly Twitter .

Israel's memorial lists names of all 2,977 victims
Israel is far from the only country outside of the U.S. with a memorial commemorating the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, that killed 2,977 people . More than a dozen other nations have such sites, according to the Voices Center for Resilience and Memorial Mapping .
Those nations include Italy , England , Ireland and Australia .

Israel's memorial is distinct from those of other nations because it is the only one outside of the U.S. that includes the names of each victim, according to Ha aretz , the Jewish National Fund and the Voices Center for Resilience .
USA TODAY has debunked an array of claims involving the 9/11 attacks, including false assertions that Congress considered a bill that would criminalize questioning the attack, that a guide dog rescued 967 people from the World Trade Center and that the BBC reported the building collapse 26 minutes early.
USA TODAY reached out to users who shared the post for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
