Two of the brightest young quarterbacks in the league are getting a nationally televised showcase for their first-ever meeting. The Chicago Bears , featuring 2024 No. 1 draft pick Caleb Williams , will play C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans on "Sunday Night Football" as part of Week 2 in the NFL.

Both teams began their 2024 campaigns with a 1-0 record and this will be a rematch of the 2024 Hall of Fame game that Chicago won over Houston to start the preseason, 21-17.

The Bears came back from a 17-0 deficit to beat the Tennessee Titans in their regular season opener without scoring an offensive touchdown. Chicago had a blocked punt that it returned for a touchdown as well as an interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter by cornerback Tyrique Stevenson. Williams was just 14 of 29 passing for 93 yards, to go along with 15 rushing yards, in his NFL debut.

Houston, meanwhile, won an early AFC South showdown against the Indianapolis Colts, 29-27, to start its quest to return to the playoffs. Stroud, the reigning NFL Rookie of the Year, finished 24 of 32 for 234 yards and two touchdowns in the game. New Texans running back Joe Mixon added 159 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
