    Suspect in Trump assassination attempt charged

    The suspect in the apparent botched assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump was charged Monday . Suspect Ryan Routh , 58, was being held on charges of possession of a firearm while a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. Read more .

    • Routh did not fire any shots while outside Trump International Golf Course, David Aronberg, the state attorney for Palm Beach County, confirmed to USA TODAY.

    Trump praises law enforcement response after latest assassination attempt

    Trump , the Republican presidential nominee, on Truth Social thanked law enforcement for their “ outstanding ” response to the assassination attempt, including the U.S. Secret Service and West Palm Beach police. Read more .

    While there are states with high percentages of Latino voters (think California, Texas and Florida ), Latino voters in other key battleground states are going to play a huge role in the 2024 election. Yes, Latinos hold the most power in states like Arizona and Nevada, which will help decide who will be the next president. But as one of the fastest voting blocs in the country, Latinos will also play a role in other battlegrounds.

    But he sure is fund raising off it. Makes you wonder if this latest assassination attempt was staged by Trump to create sympathy. This just doesn’t smell right. This guy could have mowed down all of the Secret Service with that AK-47 instead he broke camp and left his guns and backpack. This sounds pretty fishy to me.
