Resuming student loan repayments next month?

Anyone who doesn’t begin making student loan payments in October risks a hit to their credit score.

Wait — back up. Last year, President Joe Biden offered a 12-month “on-ramp” to repayment “so that financially vulnerable borrowers who miss monthly payments during this period are not considered delinquent, reported to credit bureaus, placed in default, or referred to debt collection agencies.”

• That on-ramp is set to expire Sept. 30 . And that means paying sooner than later. For many borrowers, finding a new, more affordable government payment plan may be difficult right now.
• What happened to forgiveness? Earlier this month, a U.S. judge temporarily blocked the Biden administration from implementing its latest student debt forgiveness plan, just days after seven Republican-led states filed a lawsuit seeking to halt it.
• The worst thing to do is ignore the payment . If no payment is received within 90 days, the account will be considered seriously delinquent and reported to credit bureaus.

Officers will conduct daily bomb sweeps at Springfield schools

The Ohio State Highway Patrol will conduct daily bomb sweeps at Springfield schools in response to a flood of bogus right-wing threats about migrants, Gov. Mike DeWine announced. The patrol will work with the Springfield Police Department to deploy explosive sniffing dogs, while three dozen troopers will be assigned to provide security before, during and after school hours at the city's 18 school buildings for the foreseeable future. Armed suspect staked out Trump for 12 hours

The Secret Service didn’t discover a gunman hiding in the bushes of a West Palm Beach golf course Sunday until former President Donald Trump was 500 yards away from him, raising additional questions about whether the embattled agency is up to the task of safeguarding the GOP nominee. Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe Jr. said the would-be shooter didn't have a clear line of sight in order to take a shot at Trump and never fired any rounds. Charges against Sean 'Diddy' Combs will be revealed

An indictment is set to be unsealed Tuesday morning detailing federal charges against Sean "Diddy" Combs, who was arrested Monday in Manhattan. The hip-hop mogul's arrest follows a spate of legal woes for the Bad Boy Records founder. Combs is facing multiple lawsuits filed in recent months claiming the music magnate raped or sexually assaulted several alleged victims over the past few decades.
