Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 4 game

    By Jordan Mendoza, USA TODAY,

Both the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-3) and Houston Texans (2-1) are coming off embarrassing losses, and they'll meet in an AFC South showdown in Week 4.

It's been a forgettable start to 2024 for Jacksonville after it suffered its third-straight loss in a major thumping from the Buffalo Bills . There was hope this season the Jaguars could contend for a playoff spot, but that will go down the drain if it doesn't get a win soon.

Houston was the latest victim to fall to the surging Minnesota Vikings. The Texans only managed seven points in a 27-point loss on the road after a solid 2-0 start on the season. Houston still has an early lead in the division, and can strengthen it with a win this week.

Lorenzo Reyes: Texans 27, Jaguars 13

Jacksonville looks lost right now. Trevor Lawrence’s mechanics are out of sorts, the offensive line isn’t doing him any favors and the defense just got torched by the Bills. Houston should be looking for a big bounce-back; I could see this one getting ugly.

Tyler Dragon: Texans 28, Jaguars 20

The Jaguars have lost eight of their last nine games dating back to last season. Doug Pederson’s seat is getting hotter after each loss. Things won’t get any easier for Jacksonville this week as they travel to face the best team in the AFC South. The Texans are coming off a loss. C.J. Stroud and company get back to their winning ways in this one.

Richard Morin: Texans 35, Jaguars 7

Houston gets right with a blowout win at home. What's wrong with Jacksonville?

Jordan Mendoza: Texans 23, Jaguars 20

It's a shame how fall Jacksonville has fallen after it had such a promising start to the 2023 season. They are completely out of sync at the moment, and Houston capitalizes on it to send the Jaguars to 0-4.
