The "Thursday Night Football" schedule will present its fifth consecutive divisional matchup in Week 6 .
The San Francisco 49ers will meet the Seattle Seahawks in Week 6 at Lumen Field. This will be Seattle's first NFC West clash in 2024. The 49ers will be playing in thei r second divisional game, their first ending in a 24-23 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5 .
Seattle is off to a 3-2 start and sits at the top of the NFC West standings, while the 49ers come into the game 2-3. The defending NFC champions will be without their star running back, Christian McCaffrey , for at least one more game.

This divisional matchup has been lopsided recently, with the 49ers winning five consecutive meetings with the Seahawks. Both teams rank inside the top ten in total offense (SF 2nd, 407.4 YDS/G) and (SEA 7th, 376.2 YDS/G).
Seattle is coming off a disappointing 29-20 loss to the New York Giants. They came strong out of the gates, winning three straight games to start the season, but have now lost back-to-back weeks. However, Seattle was in a position to tie the game against the G-Men with 55 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Jason Myers lined up for a 50-yard field goal that was subsequently blocked and returned for a touchdown to seal the win for Big Blue.
Seattle's running game, spearheaded by Kenneth Walker III , will look to get back on track. Seahawks running backs combined for just 30 rushing yards on 7 attempts in the loss against the Giants.
The Seahawk's defense also struggled in the loss, allowing 420 total yards to a Giants team that was without rookie sensation Malik Nabers and starting running back Devin Singletary.
On the other side will be a 49ers team that will be angry after their second defeat in three weeks to a divisional foe. San Fransisco was upset by the Rams in Week 3 and the Cardinals in Week 5. In both instances, the 49ers squandered double-digit leads in the second half. Last season, the Niners lost just two divisional games.
The 49ers offense has struggled with injuries throughout the season's first month. George Kittle and Deebo Samuel have been battling injuries but should be in line to start on Thursday night. Running back Jordan Mason has been a revelation in McCaffrey's absence.
Similarly to Seattle, the 49ers defense struggled to slow down their opponent in Week 5. They allowed the Cardinals to run for 169 yards.
Despite losing two consecutive games, the Seahawks are off to a strong start and can make an early statement as the team to beat in the NFC West. One matchup to watch will be the 49ers on offense in the red zone. They have struggled to finish off drives, ranking 29th in the NFL in terms of converting red zone opportunities into touchdowns. Seattle ranks 15th in red zone defense.
