'Game of Thrones' star Peter Dinklage has scar from being 'kneed in head' in '90s punk band

Peter Dinklage knows how to rock.

The " Game of Thrones " alum proved that much during his appearance on " Hot Ones " this week after host Sean Evans asked about sustaining an injury during his days in a "punk-funk-rap" group called Whizzy.

Dinklage confirmed he still had a scar from when he was "kneed in the head" during a performance at the former New York City music club CBGB in the early 1990s.

"Just try to define me, man," the "Station Agent" actor said.

Dinklage, 55, was ready to live the "starving artist" lifestyle.

"Back in the day, I was like, 'I'm not gonna be an actor. I'm not gonna do any silly commercials or any of that. I'm gonna do plays downtown for no money, in which I'm gonna throw up on the audience. And I'm gonna be in a punk band,'" he said.

The band's performances were pretty punk, Dinklage said.

"We were Beastie Boys rip-offs, and yeah, we had fun. And it was a couple years doing it. I got a cool scar on my temple. Head wounds bleed a lot," he added. "So I throw up on the audience, and I bleed on the audience. It's a very visceral experience if you wanna see me live."

The anti-acting stance didn't take for the actor, who Evans noted is closing in on 100 credits. However, Dinklage said it took some time for him not to hold resentment toward the entertainment industry for its depiction of little people .

"I was angry, I think, too angry for a long time," Dinklage said. "I just knew what the entertainment business was serving up people who are my size, and that to me wasn't acting."

But, he added, "I surrounded myself with really brilliant people. I couldn't do it alone. And that's the beauty of what I do for a living, is the collaboration."
