Jon Stewart isn't going anywhere any time soon.

"The Daily Show" alum, who returned to the Comedy Central talk show in February as an interim host, will continue to anchor the show through 2025, Paramount Global announced Monday.

"Jon's incisive intellect and sharp wit make him one of the most important voices in political and cultural commentary today," said Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global co-CEO and president/CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios.

"His ability to cut through the noise and deliver clear-eyed insights is exactly what we need which is why we are thrilled to have him leading 'The Daily Show' for another year," McCarthy said in the news release.

Jon Stewart: Comedian to return to 'The Daily Show' as search for Trevor Noah replacement continues

Stewart's shock return came after previous host Trevor Noah ended his seven-year run on "The Daily Show," leaving the program in need of a new lead.

The show utilized a rotating series of guest hosts, including Leslie Jones and Sarah Silverman after his departure but had yet to choose a permanent replacement after Hasan Minhaj , reportedly a leading candidate, faced unfavorable coverage in a New Yorker article of his truthfulness in his standup comedy.

Stewart, who hosts "The Daily Show" on Mondays, will continue to share hosting duties Tuesday through Thursday with alternate hosts.

"I've truly enjoyed being back working with the incredible team at 'The Daily Show' and Comedy Central," said Stewart in a statement, jokingly adding, "I was really hoping they’d allow me to do every other Monday, but I'll just have to suck it up."

Stewart returned to help helm election coverage, and the show has included live coverage from the presidential debates leading up to the 2024 general election. " The Daily Show " returned live for the second debate, the first with Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris and Republican nominee former President Donald Trump head-to-head, with Stewart joking about the debate's "refreshing" return to question-dodging by the candidates.

"I just want to say, after surviving the PTSD of the last presidential debate , how unbelievably refreshing it is to go back to the same old, nobody's going to answer any … questions!" Stewart yelled after watching clips from the first question on the United States economy. "We're back!"

"The Daily Show" airs weeknights at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central and the next day on Paramount+.

He must not be worried about Trump winning and putting comedians in prison. Along with journalists and political rivals… you know just the typical enemy within… everybody who doesn’t like him is subject to arrest and work camps in Siberia or Alaska since Trumps alter ego is Putin and they will become butt brothers if Trumpnis elected… But Jon isn’t worried so that’s cool… Harris must have this one in the bag…
