Huskers Tommi Hill and Vince Genatone named to ‘Freaks’ list

Nebraska football had two representatives on Bruce Feldman’s ‘Freak List’* (subscription required) earlier this week. Cornerback Tommi Hill (No. 57) and linebacker Vince Genatone (No. 83) made the list.

Hill is coming off a 2023 season that saw him record 26 combined tackles and four interceptions. His four interceptions were a career-high.

Genatone came to the program in April following spending two seasons at Montana, committing to Nebraska as a preferred walk-on. He was a Nebraska high school standout, recording 911 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns at North Platte. He also played linebacker, recording 136 tackles over the course of his high school career.

Both players will have a chance to make an impact on the Nebraska defense, notably Hill.

The latter is an essential part of the Nebraska football secondary this season. Genatone could also play a role in the linebacker unit.
