The Denver Broncos made two roster moves following their 34-30 win over the Indianapolis Colts in their preseason opener on Sunday.

First, the Broncos claimed defensive back Kaleb Hayes off waivers from the New York Giants on Monday. Hayes was waived by the Giants on Sunday to make room for linebacker K.J. Cloyd.

Denver’s second roster move was waiving linebacker Alec Mock to make room for Hayes on their 90-man offseason roster. Mock has had a bumpy ride with the Broncos. He originally joined the team as an undrafted free agent from the Air Force Academy on May 10 but was cut on June 20. Denver then re-signed Mock on Aug. 6, only to waive him again on Aug. 12.

As for Hayes, he is a second-year player out of BYU and Oregon State who entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023. Hayes spent last season on the New York Giants’ practice squad. He is yet to appear in a regular season game in the NFL.
