Former Florida women's hoops standout lands pro deal overseas

Former Florida women’s basketball standout forward Faith Dut kicked off her professional career by signing a contract with Spanish-based C.B. Adareva Tenerife; her new home court will be at the Canary Islands Pavilion.

Tut represents the third SEC women’s basketball player to sign with the club.

“I’m really looking forward to getting to Spain and meeting my teammates and staff and the whole club,” the UF alumna offered. “I’m going to give the maximum I have in every training session and in every game to help the team.”

Originally from Vancouver (British Columbia), Canada, Dut played high school ball at Semiahmoo Secondary School, where she led her team to the AAA Senior Girls Basketball Provincial title her senior season. As a result of her superlative play in international competitions as well as her high school accolades, she earned a spot on former Gators head coach Cam Newbauer’s program roster.

Dut spent five years in Gainesville — two with Newbauer and three with Kelly Rae Finley at the helm — amassing 645 points, 428 rebounds, 96 blocks, 64 assists and 58 steals. She shot 46.8% from the field overall with a 30.0% average from beyond the arc in 147 total games played (101 starts) while averaging 16.7 minutes during her UF tenure.

In her final two seasons as a Gator, Dut led the team in blocks totaling 27 in both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 campaigns.
