Titans DB's can't cover Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba

We are on day two of the joint practices between the Seattle Seahawks and the Tennessee Titans. So far, the Seahawks have been taking it to the Titans consistently during practice.

We have already heard about how dominant defensive tackle Byron Murphy II has been, as well as the entire defense which has held the Titans out of the end zone. Even wide receiver Jake Bobo is flat out embarrassing Tennessee’s defensive backs.

However, Bobo is not the only second year receiver making mincemeat out of the Titans secondary. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who is widely expected to have a breakout season under offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, is certainly showing off his potential against Tennessee. During practice, the Titans simply could not cover JSN.

Last year, JSN hauled in 63 receptions for 628 yards and four touchdowns. Respectable numbers for a rookie, but certainly the 12th Man was hoping for a little bit more from such a dynamic player. However, it seems the lack of production had more to do with previous offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, who is now with the Chicago Bears.

If Grubb is able to fully unlock the potential of JSN this year, the Seahawks offense is going to be a force to be reckoned with. Having a trio of DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and JSN is more than enough to keep defensive coordinators up at night.
