The Auburn Tigers head into year two of the Hugh Freeze era and look to gain ground in its rebuilding efforts.

The Tigers earned six wins in 2023 and grabbed a postseason bid to play in the Music City Bowl at season’s end. Auburn, however, wants to right the ship as the program has not won more than six games in a season since 2019. Due to their extensive revamp of the offense, many outlets are projecting Auburn to take that much-needed step forward this season.

One of those outlets, CBS Sports, is projecting Auburn to make another bowl appearance in 2024. In its preseason College Football Playoff and bowl projections , CBS Sports forecasts the Tigers to meet up with TCU in the Liberty Bowl on Friday, Dec. 27 at Simmons Bank Liberty Bowl Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee.

TCU experienced a setback last season after appearing in the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship Game. The Horned Frogs finished 5-7 with three wins against Big 12 foes. TCU however did play close games with quality opponents. The Horned Frogs lost by a touchdown to Texas Tech and by three points to both Colorado and Texas .

CBS Sports projects four SEC teams– Georgia , Texas , Texas A&M , and Alabama — to earn College Football Playoff bids. In all, CBS forecasts 11 SEC teams to make a postseason appearance including LSU , Tennessee , Kentucky , and Oklahoma .
