LSU’s 2024 transfer class was headlined by wide receiver CJ Daniels. After a 1,000 yard season at Liberty, Daniels wanted to jump up a level.

He spoke to the media last week and discussed being ready to play in the SEC.

“I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t have the confidence. It’s the biggest stage of football, as close as you can get to the NFL,” Daniels said, “So for me coming here, you have to bring the juice, you have to bring confidence in. I think I have that.”

Daniels isn’t the only LSU wide receiver to transfer up from the Group of Five. Two years ago, Kyren Lacy made a similar jump when leaving Louisiana.

Daniels said he spoke to Lacy before arriving at LSU.

“Before I even came here. he was just telling me be ready to work. You know, I ask him every day for different tips, just things that will help me grow as a player,” Daniels said.

In 2023, Daniels led FBS receivers with 3.94 yards per route run and was near the top with 19.3 yards per catch too.

Daniels has a chance to be one of LSU’s top targets, alongside Lacy. If he comes close to those levels of efficiency in LSU’s offense, his 2024 campaign will be a success.
