The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will be without tight end Brett Seither, who is a Georgia Bulldogs transfer, for the 2024 college football season. According to Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key, Seither suffered a season-ending knee injury.

Seither is the second Georgia transfer to be ruled out for the season at his new school. Missouri Tigers pass rusher Darris Smith will also miss the 2024 season after suffering a knee injury.

Last season, Seither caught seven passes for 101 yards and four touchdowns with Georgia Tech. He was expected to have an expanded role in 2024. Now, Georgia Tech will start Avery Boyd at tight end in its season opener.

Georgia Tech opens its season on Aug. 24 against the Florida State Seminoles in Week 0 .
