When Tyler Linderbaum suffered a soft tissue injury at the beginning of this month, the initial recovery and return timeline held that he had an outside chance of returning for the final preseason game in Green Bay.

According to an update provided by head coach John Harbaugh, that is all but ruled out now.

“Yes. [Tyler Linderbaum] is right on schedule, [he’s] just kind of right where we were planning,” the Baltimore Ravens head coach said of his Pro Bowl center.

“He won’t be in any kind of contact work this week, but he’s in all of the ACT practices that we do – he’s been doing all of that, so, he’s in a good place.”

That is very positive news, as it leaves him on the pace to potentially be ready for the season opener at Kansas City. Even if he were to be full go come Saturday, it would probably be best that the Solon, Iowa native, sit this one out anyway.

It has been reported that Linderbaum’s injury is in the neck; if so, it’s not something to mess around with. A precious player for the Ravens, he needs to be eased back slowly.
