Former Georgia QB leads NFL in several statistics

Entering Week 3 of the preseason, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Stetson Bennett leads the NFL in several different statistics.

We’ll start with the good. Bennett leads the league in passing yardage. He’s thrown for almost 100 yards more than the player with the second-most passing yards. Bennett has 437 passing yards through the first two weeks of the preseason.

Bennett has most passing attempts (69) and completions (41) than any other NFL quarterback this preseason. Overall, he’s completed 59.4% of his passes, which is middle of the pack.

Why does Bennett have bigger passing numbers than his NFL counterparts? Because Bennett has played in two full games. Most other quarterbacks play in a series, a quarter or a half, but not the whole game. He engineered a pair of fourth quarter comebacks and is a big reason why the Rams are 2-0 this preseason.

The bad news is that Bennett leads the NFL in interceptions with five this preseason. He’s been effective at moving the ball, but his four interception performance in Week 1 definitely raised some concerns.
