John Harbaugh says the Ravens have no major injuries ahead of season opener

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews missed another practice session on Monday, but center Tyler Linderbaum returned wearing a red jersey. Linderbaum looked good during blocking drills while working in a less-than-full-contact but more-than-no-contact status.

Kyle Hamilton and Nelson Agholor have also been recently injured. However, coach John Harbaugh said today that none of the Ravens’ key players are expected to miss the season opener at Kansas City.

“There are no serious injuries,” Harbaugh told the media.

“None of those guys have anything that’s going to keep them out, unless something crops up that I don’t know about.

“But there’s nothing now that’s going to keep anybody out of practice on Friday that you don’t know about. [Rasheen] Ali is still up in the air, I can tell you that.

“Other than that, we’re not going to get into too much talk about the injuries because … it’s a competitive disadvantage to get too deep into what your guys’ injuries are. That puts them not in the best position competitively and we like to keep our opponents guessing a little bit.”

By mentioning Rasheen Ali in this specific context, Harbaugh is clearly signaling that the rookie running back will likely survive the final cuts on Tuesday.

He then explained why circumstances allowed him to be so transparent about Ali’s situation while remaining coy about the others.

“If I think the opponent already knows and it’s obvious, I’ll just say it because they know he [Ali] is on the concussion protocol,” Harbaugh continued.

“They know he’s out, so I can talk about that.

“Anybody else it wouldn’t be favorable to us or the player to give information to the Chiefs or Raiders or anybody else.”

With the preseason over and the season-opening contest just a little over a week away, the Ravens are in a great spot regarding injury.
