Dan Lanning offers injury update on freshman CB Dakoda Fields

Oregon head coach Dan Lanning held his mid-week press conference ahead of the season opener with Idaho and he had to announce some bad news.

Freshman corner Dakoda Fields, a 6-foot-2, 190-pounder out of Gardena, Calif., will be out for a little while with a knee injury and there’s no timetable for his return yet.

It’s a definite blow to the secondary as Fields, a four-star recruit, was expected to play some this year, but with this news, he will likely wind up redshirting the 2024 season.

The Ducks have been a bit lucky on the injury front so far as they are relatively healthy as Oregon prepares for Idaho on Saturday. Hopefully, for Oregon’s sake, the injuries stay far and few between as they head into the Big Ten Conference for the first time in 2024.
