The Kansas City Chiefs are settling in with their new players and finalized 53-man roster, preparing to defend their Super Bowl title.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke with reporters via Zoom on Friday, providing an update on Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown’s availability before next Thursday’s season opener vs. the Baltimore Ravens.

“I don’t think you’ll have Hollywood this week,” said Reid. “Hollywood won’t be back this week, and we’ll just see how it goes, but the kid’s amazing. His progress has been incredible, but I wouldn’t predict him being there this week.”

Brown left the opening preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars due to the injury. The confirmed sternoclavicular joint dislocation has no official timetable, but the coaching staff says he’s improving. Reid compared the injury to that of former Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill in 2019.

In response to a potential injury, the Chiefs kept a significant number of receivers on the 53-man roster and practice squad. Once Brown is healthy enough to return to the field, he figures to be the team’s top receiver on the depth chart.
