Reactions to Georgia's low scoring start vs. Clemson

The Georgia Bulldogs and Clemson Tigers are in another low-scoring season opener. Georgia shut out Clemson in the first half en route to a 6-0 halftime lead.

Neither team has been able to establish the run. Georgia running back Branson Robinson has not had much success for the Bulldogs, so I think it is time for Georgia to give more carries to Nate Frazier, who looks much more explosive.

A few penalties erased big plays in the first half. An illegal formation penalty cost Clemson a third-down conversion. A pass interference penalty on Georgia wide receiver Arian Smith (who was blocking on a run-pass option play) negated a 37 yard Dillon Bell catch. This penalty slowed down Georgia as Carson Beck and company were driving with less than two minutes left. Beck missed Dominic Lovett on a chance for an explosive play with an inaccurate pass.

Georgia kicker Peyton Woodring made a pair of first half field goals including a 54-yarder. Overall, both teams are struggling to have productive days on offense. The Georgia offense looks much more threatening, but whoever can take care of the football without any turnovers will have a big advantage.
