Nebraska wide receiver Jahmal Banks saw something special in quarterback Dylan Raiola during Saturday’s 40-7 victory over UTEP .

Banks did his part to contribute to the win. He tallied four catches for 61 yards and a touchdown. He averaged 15.3 yards per catch, and his longest catch of the afternoon was 21 yards.

Raiola also played a big part in the victory. He recorded 238 passing yards and two touchdowns on 19-of-27 passing. The freshman did not play like one, leading the Huskers to 507 yards of total offense.

Banks praised the signal-caller following the victory.

“It’s about trust. It was conversations we’ve had, practices we’ve had. We just went and got it. As far as it being about us, that’s just what we do. That’s what we train for, that’s what we sacrifice and suffer for, is moments like that to just go execute, so we did it.”

The Raiola-Banks connection will undoubtedly be a key part of the Nebraska offense moving forward. It will be interesting to see what they do next Saturday for a follow-up act.
