Several Aggies post prolific PFF scores after Texas A&M’s win over McNeese State

Saturday’s 52-10 win against McNeese State was head coach Mike Elko’s first with Texas A&M, as the Aggies sit at 1-1 before heading to Gainsville to face the Florida Gators (1-1) as they await to hear who they’ll face under center after freshman QB DJ Lagway’s impressive debut.

Going into the game, starting quarterback Conner Weigman was under the spotlight after his career-low performance in the opening season loss to Notre Dame, and according to Pro Football Focus , the redshirt sophomore was one of the best signal callers all weekend.

Weigman finished the day with the highest offensive (97.7) and passing (96.6) grades in the country, while his offense line continued to hold up in pass protection for the second consecutive week.

Starting left guard Chase Bisontis, who is back at his natural position, also led the country in two categories, posting a 98.8 offensive grade and an incredible 99.4 run block grade. The sophomore is quickly living up to his elite potential.

Splitting snaps at right tackle on Saturday, Dametrious Crownover (92.9 offensive grade, 93.1 run-block grade) and Reuben Fatheree (86.7 offensive grade, 84.5 run-block grade) were equally impressive.

Interestingly, freshman wide receiver Terry Bussey, who received the third most snaps (33) on Saturday, posted a team-low 54.4 offensive grade despite his 65-yard rushing touchdown.

Texas A&M will travel to Gainsville to take on the Florida Gators on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 2:30 p.m. CT. The game will air on ABC.
