(Update 9/9/24, 3:41 p.m.): Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott has updated Allen’s injury status on Monday:

Bills’ Sean McDermott: Josh Allen injury is good to go, will play vs. Dolphins

    Previous coverage:

The Buffalo Bills won and gave their fans a bit of a scare in Week 1.

A massive scare is more like it.

After struggling in the first half, Buffalo took a big 31-20 lead over the Arizona Cardinals before eventually winning 34-28 . On the play, quarterback Josh Allen rushed in a touchdown in style, leaping over a defender (again).

However, Allen landed awkwardly on his non-throwing left hand. After, the QB had it taped up but finished the game.

One of the first things Allen was asked about after the final whistle was that injury and in his mind it’s a positive update:

Allen getting his hand looked at, for now, is probably precautionary. It’s unlikely Allen, head coach Sean McDermott, or anyone else in the Bills locker room will provide updates on the injury until Monday.

A huge curveball in the equation is Buffalo’s Week 2 game. It’s a short week, as “Thursday Night Football” will be the Bills against the Miami Dolphins.

Bills Wire will provide updates as information is made available.

For now, Allen discussed taking that knock on his hand during his post-game presser as well, which can be found in the Batavia Daily News clip below:
