Dexter Lawrence said that he doesn’t respect Giants fans booing the team at home over dismal Week 1 loss

Expectations weren’t exactly high for the Giants, but Week 1’s matchup against the Sam Darnold-led Vikings looked to be as good an opportunity as any to start the season with a win.

Instead, Sunday’s game at MetLife Stadium ended up being an absolute embarrassment for the Giants. The team was outclassed early, and as they went into the locker room at halftime down 11, the boo birds were obvious in the 28-6 loss.

That carried on into the second half as fans started heading to the exits before the fourth quarter . Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence — one of the few bright spots in the game — was asked about the fan reception. He really didn’t want to answer it, but ultimately, he admitted that he didn’t appreciate the boos at all from the home crowd.

    Lawrence said:

“I don’t respect it, honestly. I get it. They want to see their team win. It’s just a rough patch. It is what it is.”

That “rough patch” has been two winning seasons in nine years. So, you can understand the impatience.
