The Georgia Bulldogs suffered several injuries against Tennessee Tech, but none of them appear to be severe according to Georgia head coach Kirby Smart. The Bulldogs are 2-0 ahead of their SEC opener against the Kentucky Wildcats.

Georgia tight end Oscar Delp left the Tennessee Tech game with an ankle injury. It does not sound like Delp is expected to miss an extended period of time.

“Yeah, he (Georgia tight end Oscar Delp) had a slight ankle sprain, so we’ll see. I thought he could’ve gone but held him at halftime,” said Smart.

Georgia sophomore tight end Lawson Luckie was the Bulldogs’ most productive tight end on Saturday. Luckie hauled in two receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown. Luckie was one of five different receivers to catch a pass from quarterback Carson Beck.

Georgia running back Nate Frazier also left the game with what appeared to be a shoulder injury. Frazier could have returned according to Kirby Smart.

“Yeah, he could have come back. and we ended up holding him out. I’m not even sure it’s a shoulder, but I don’t know what significance. They came over to me and said he’s ready to go back in, but at that point we were moved on,” said Smart on Frazier.

There was no need for Georgia to risk injuries against Tennessee Tech. The Bulldogs will lick their wounds ahead of Week 3’s game at Kentucky. Georgia has a bye week after Kentucky before the Bulldogs play at the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Georgia was without edge rusher Mykel Williams (ankle) and defensive lineman Wareen Brinson (ankle/Achilles) against Tennessee Tech. Both players are making progress with their respective recoveries.

“Yeah, I mean, he’s hurt,” said Smart on Mykel Williams. “He’s got an ankle. So, I mean, like he couldn’t go today. I don’t know what he’ll be able to do. I’m sure we’ll find out on Wednesday.”
