Jets' Michael Carter II questionable to return vs. 49ers

The New York Jets are down a defensive back on a poor day for their defense against the San Francisco 49ers.

The team has announced that cornerback Michael Carter II is questionable to return with an ankle injury:

Carter went down in the fourth quarter with New York trailing 26-13 in San Francisco in their season opener against the 49ers. Only a few plays later, the Niners kicked a field goal.

Carter was spotted going into the blue medical on the Jets’ sideline after grabbing his lower leg. Prior to departing the contest, Carter had two tackles.
