On Saturday afternoon, the Alabama Crimson Tide will travel north for a rare true road game in the Big Ten, as the program makes its’ way to Madison for a Week 3 matchup against the Wisconsin Badgers.

A matchup pitting the SEC vs. Big Ten, the Crimson Tide and Badgers are largely unfamiliar with each other however, as the two programs have met only twice previously. Over that span, the head-to-head series sits at 1-1.

The first meeting between the two came back in 1928, which is also the lone prior matchup to take place on a campus. On November 3, 1928, the Badgers hosted Alabama in Madison, a game in which Wisconsin won by a final score of 15-0.

After that 1928 contest, the Crimson Tide and Badgers would not meet again for nearly a century until 2015, where Alabama and Wisconsin faced off at a neutral-site in Arlington, Texas.

In what was the 2015 season opener for both teams, Alabama, who went on to win the national championship that year, defeated the Badgers in a Top 25 showdown, 35-17. The Crimson Tide would also out-gain Wisconsin in total yardage, 502-268, – which also included a 238-40 advantage on the ground – while future Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns on 13 attempts in the win.

With the head-to-head series tied at 1-1 all-time, can Alabama make it 2-1 on Saturday?
