The Oregon Ducks (2-0) and Oregon State Beavers (2-0) meet Saturday in Corvallis as they continue an in-state rivalry that dates back to 1894. The opening kickoff at Reser Stadium will be at 3:30 p.m. ET (FOX). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around Oregon vs. Oregon State odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Oregon is No. 6 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, but the Ducks struggled in defeating Boise State 37-34 Sept. 7. The Ducks had 9 penalties, rushed for just 3.1 yards per attempt and were a minus-2 in turnovers. Oregon got a game-winning 25-yard field goal from K Atticus Sappington as time expired.

Oregon State shut out San Diego State 21-0 Sept. 7, and the Beavers head into Week 3 having allowed just 15 points so far. Last week at SDSU, Oregon State held the Aztecs to a combined 2-of-13 mark on 3rd and 4th downs, and the Beavers yielded just 179 total yards.

Oregon at Oregon State picks and predictions

    Prediction

    Oregon 35, Oregon State 24

On big plays, look for Oregon State to hang with its Big Ten visitors a bit more than one might think. And expect the OSU defense to be able to get off the field on enough third downs to keep an OU (-800) lead from getting out on the loose.

The return here isn’t bad. This would figure as a decent play had the Ducks not escaped by their hind feathers against Boise State.

    PASS.

Oregon State is 11-2 ATS over its last 13 September games. OSU is 3-1 ATS in the last 4 games played in Corvallis.

Oregon has not lived up to expectations so far. The Ducks may not be up to their standard yet defensively, especially against the run. That plays into a Beavers strength.

This line opened at 13 across most of the market. Bettors look to have overstepped in the early action.

    TAKE THE BEAVERS +16.5 (-110).

Last season, the Ducks (-14) downed the Beavers 31-7 in Eugene. That game was Under the total of 61.5. The previous 3 series meetings cashed on the Over.

Look for some amped pace from Oregon. Slower-paced OSU can possibly counter with some turnover-spurred short-field action.

The Ducks defense may be getting too much preseason bias with this number.

BACK THE OVER 49.5 (-110) — a tag available at FanDuel Sportsbook.
