The Las Vegas Aces (23-13) and Indiana Fever (19-18) meet Friday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in the 2nd game of a back-to-back set. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ION). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Aces vs. Fever odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

    Season series: Aces lead 3-0

The Aces are piecing things together just in time for what it hopes is another championship run. Vegas has won 5 of the past 6 games straight up (SU), while covering in 6 in a row. The Under has cashed in 4 consecutive outings, while going 9 of the past 12 contests.

One of those victories and covers was in the front end of this back-to-back in Indy. Vegas won 86-75, beating the Fever for the 14th straight time, as A’ja Wilson scored 27 points with 12 rebounds. She became the WNBA’s single-season scoring leader in 35 games with 956 points, passing Seattle’s Jewell Loyd, who had 939 points in 38 games last season.

Indiana’s Caitlin Clark had a brutal night from behind the arc, going just 1-of-10 against Vegas, while finishing with 16 points on 6-of-22 shooting. Luckily, Kelsey Mitchell had 24 points to pace the Fever and keep them in it.

Aces at Fever picks and predictions

    Prediction

    Aces 89, Fever 76

Las Vegas (-225) would set you back more than 2 times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk for not enough reward. While it seems like a slam-dunk play, as the Aces have vanquished Indiana (+180) in 14 straight meetings, it’s too expensive.

    PASS.

It’s difficult to win and cover in a back-to-back set, especially on the road. However, LAS VEGAS -5.5 (-105) has managed 6 consecutive covers, and it has covered all 3 meetings with Clark and Indiana +5.5 (-115) this season. There is very little evidence that the Fever will suddenly catch fire and turn things around in this series.

UNDER 177.5 (-110) might be the best play on the board in this 2nd installment in the past 3 days.

The Under has cashed in each of the previous 2 meetings, including Wednesday’s game with a combined 161 points on a total of 180. The Under is 8-2 in the past 10 in the series since Aug. 28, 2021, too.

For Vegas, the total has gone low in 4 straight, and 12 of the past 16 outings since July 10 prior to the All-Star and Olympic break.

As far as Indiana is concerned, the Over is 5-1 in the past 6 games, but the Under has a slight 2-1 edge in the past 3 against winning teams, while going 7-2 in the previous 9 against teams above .500.
