The New York Jets could soon have some reinforcements coming to their offense.

In the form of a player already on their roster.

The Jets (0-1) only saw veteran receiver Mike Williams on the field for nine snaps in their season-opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers. In limited time, he did not get on the stat sheet.

Following a knee injury in 2023, Williams told the New York Post he’s fine with the slow-and-steady approach.

“Just kind of slowly building up. It’s what I expected,” Williams said.

But according to head coach Robert Saleh, that could soon change.

“So yes, long story short, we’re trying to get him on the field more,” Saleh said.

Williams, 29, has had two 1,000-yard seasons in his career while with the Los Angeles Chargers.
